The Submariner has been recognized as a superb diving watch since its debut in 1953, when the Submariner was the first divers watch waterproof to a depth of 100 meters and included a rotatable bezel to allow divers to read their immersion time. With its classic 40mm size and aluminum bezel, the reference 16610 is beloved by Submariner fans as a link between the earliest Submariners and the modern updated models. This 16613 is a step above in refinement and luxury. With the blue dial and an 18K yellow gold with stainless steel bracelet, this watch could easily play James Bond as it seamlessly flows from a dinner party to the ocean. Where steel is used it is the 904L stainless steel, which although more difficult to form into a watch makes it a preferred material for immersion in the ocean.
