Pre-Owned Rolex 40mm Explorer II, Black Dial, Oyster Bracelet, Ref. 16570
Rolex dedicated the Oyster Perpetual Explorer II to polar explorers and all those pushing the boundaries of exploration. The Explorer II includes the distinctive 24 hour hand, together with markers and hands that are designed to be legible in low light environments. The 16570 iteration modified the outline of the hands to aid legibility by changing from white gold to a black outline. This reference 16570 also used the caliber 3185 compared to the previous reference 16550 that used the caliber 3085. The power reserve increased two hours to a total 50 hours with this new movement. The reference 16570 was produced between 1989 through 2011 in a 40mm case, which increased to 42mm in the next reference 216570. With its 100m of water resistance, the Explorer II continues to serve as a robust tool for modern adventurers, as well as being a more affordable Rolex sports watch.
