Vintage 36mm Patek Philippe Calatrava (2552)
The Patek Philippe Calatrava is one of the most iconic and enduring designs in the world of luxury wristwatches. Introduced in 1932, it was created as an elegant and timeless timepiece that embodied the principles of the Bauhaus movement, focusing on form following function.
Patek Philippe introduced the reference 2552 in 1955 and discontinued it in 1960. This model is one of the few references that house the automatic caliber 12-600 AT. This Patek Philippe 2552 Calatrava measures 36mm and is made in 18K yellow gold. These models feature a thick stepped round bezel that resemble a flying saucer, which earned it the nickname “Disco Volante.” The watch is attached to a new blue Ostrich strap.
The movement Caliber 12-600AT was the first automatic movement by Patek Philippe and is considered an outstanding automatic movement with an absolute example of industrial art. The watch movement is known for its accuracy due to is larger balance wheel. The 2552 was available in the three gold colors and in platinum, for a total estimated output of around 650 pieces. This watch was serviced in 2026 and offers years of worry-free wear.
