Omega 424. DeVille Prestige Co-Axial

New Omega 36.8mm DeVille Prestige Champagne Dial Stainless Steel, Yellow Gold Bracelet 42420372008001
This model features an impressive two-zone champagne dial with gold-fashioned Roman numerals at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock positions. A scratch-resistant sapphire crystal protects the striking dial, with its date window at the 3 o’clock position. The 18K yellow gold bezel is mounted on a 36.8 mm stainless steel case and is presented on a stainless steel and 18K yellow gold bracelet. The watch is powered by Omega’s Co-Axial caliber 2500. The Omega De Ville line first appeared as dress versions of the sportier Seamaster but soon became an independent collection known for classic, elegant and interesting design innovations. The De Ville collection allows the luxury watchmaker to fully develop watches of exceptional beauty and design. Because Omega is known for accurate and reliable sport watches, they supplied the De Ville with one of the world’s most advanced movements, the exceptional co-axial developed by Dr. George Daniels. The Deville Prestige is a subset within the larger collection that continues to explore classic and elegant design.

Omega is one of the world’s most recognizable luxury watch brands. Although founded in 1848, the company did not become known as Omega until 1894, when the company took the name of its highly successful new watch movement. The revolutionary movement used a single crown for both winding and time setting. Success followed success when in 1905, due to its commitment to accuracy, Omega became the official timekeeper for Swiss sporting events. Later in 1932, Omega became the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. To mark Omega’s 100th year anniversary, Omega introduced the watch that would become one of the world’s most popular watches, the Seamaster. While these are remarkable achievements, the watch that made Omega a legend among watchmakers was the Speedmaster, the only watch to survive the brutal NASA testing requirements and the only watch certified by NASA for use in Space. It is no surprise that Omega watches are recognized today as spectacularly rugged tool watches hiding in a luxury watch.
