Vintage 35.5mm Heuer Carrera (2448T)
The Heuer Carrera was introduced in 1963 by Jack Heuer, great-grandson of the brand’s founder, and quickly became one of the most iconic chronographs in watchmaking history. Named after the grueling Carrera Panamericana road race in Mexico, the watch was designed with motorsport in mind—featuring a clean, legible dial and minimalist styling that set it apart from the cluttered chronographs of the time. Powered initially by hand-wound Valjoux movements, the Carrera evolved in the late 1960s with the introduction of automatic chronograph calibers, including the legendary Caliber 11 developed in partnership with Breitling, Buren, and Dubois Dépraz. After a hiatus during the Quartz Crisis, the Carrera was revived in the 1990s following TAG’s acquisition of Heuer, and it has since remained a cornerstone of the TAG Heuer lineup, celebrated for its racing heritage, sleek design, and technical innovation. The watch presented here is an original vintage Heuer Carrera from circa 1968, in excellent condition.
