Heuer Autavia Pepsi GMT Ref. 1163

$12,495

Pre-owned, Heuer 42mm Autavia GMT, Black Dial, Rubber Strap, ref. 1163

This Autavia GMT is in overall excellent condition and comes with an updated black rubber strap. The original sunburst finish on the case is clearly visible.  There are light scratches and a few light nicks on the case edges, which are typical for a previously worn watch.  The sharp edges suggest a watch that was cared for by its owner and the case is likely unpolished.  The dial is in overall great condition with some dark patina around the edges of the white sub-dials when viewed under magnification.  Lume on the hands and dial have aged beautifully.  Typical of this reference, the lume on the hour markers shows a pale green with some yellowing while the lume on the hands is a crème color, with some darkening at the edges of the hour markers.  The bezel is in overall excellent condition, with some wear and vibrant red and blue.

This Autavia GMT is the Mark 3 variation that was introduced in 1972.   Heuer GMT Mark 3 series include hour and minute hands with red borders, a red chronograph hand, red stripes in the minutes register, and a yellow GMT hand with a rectangular tip filled with lume.  With an all correct watch head, including the pushers and the signed crown, this is an extremely attractive watch.
