Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust Ref. 17013

Preowned 36mm Stainless Steel and 18K Yellow Gold Oysterquartz on bracelet, Ref. 17013

When quartz was introduced to the watch world, it threatened to completely overtake mechanical watch production.  Rolex responded with the Oysterdate model in 1977, which included an in-house quartz caliber 5035.  This Oysterquartz very closely resembles the classic Rolex Datejust with a traditional fluted bezel, two-tone finish, waterproof case, and dial topped with a jump date at the 3-hour marker. Thankfully, mechanical watch-making survived and even thrives today, making this Rolex quartz a somewhat rare watch.  This quartz movement still offers the accuracy of quartz while maintaining the beauty of a Rolex watch, however it does not pass our pressure testing.  This means it is still perfect for work and leisure, provided you remove it before jumping into the pool.
