Tudor Black-Bay (Like New – January 2022) Ref. 79230R

$3,750

Pre-Owned Tudor 41mm Black-Bay, Black Dial, Stainless Steel Bracelet, Ref. 79230R

The Black Bay draws its most characteristic features from past models in the brand’s history. Its general lines, domed dial and crystal were inspired by the first TUDOR diving watches. It features the particularly prominent winding crown from the famous 7924 reference of 1958, aka the Big Crown, while its characteristic angular hands, known as “Snowflake”, were borrowed from the TUDOR watches used by the French National Navy in the 1970s.

In 2015, TUDOR announced its first Manufacture caliber in its history. A high-performance movement of excellent precision and proven robustness, the TUDOR MT5602 Manufacture caliber offers a 70-hour power reserve, meaning that its wearer can take off the watch on Friday evening and put it on again on Monday morning without having to wind it.  Since its origin, the Black Bay laid down the aesthetic and technical foundations of an ideal divers’ watch, those of an understated, functional and reliable tool.

Tudor Pelagos FXD Ref. M25707B/21

$5,925

Pre-Owned Tudor 42mm Pelagos FXD, Blue Dial, Blue Rubber Strap, Ref. M25707B/21

The Pelagos FXD model, where FXD refers to the fixed strap bars of the case, was designed in collaboration with the Marine National (French Navy) and is designed for underwater navigation, with purposeful intention first, and aesthetic second. The blue bi-directional rotating bezel with ceramic insert was designed as a tool for navigation purpose rather than your typical dive watch which has a uni-directional rotating bezel designed to measure air supply. With the 42mm case being made of monobloc titanium, the watch is more water resistant since there are less ways for water to enter the case and potentially do harm. Powering this Pelagos FXD is Tudors in house self winding MT5602 caliber movement with COSC certification and a 70 hour power reserve. Attached is a navy blue rubber strap with a titanium buckle. Included is an additional navy blue fabric strap with grey central thread.

Tudor Monte Carlo ‘Home Plate’ Chronograph Ref. 7032/0

$30,895

Pre-owned Tudor 40mm Monte Carlo ‘Home Plate’ Chronograph, Oyster Bracelet, Ref. 7032/0

Produced for approximately two years, the Monte Carlo was the first chronograph produced by Tudor. As a brand, Tudor was intended to bring affordable watches to Rolex customers.  Under its unique brand name, Tudor experimented with designs that Rolex might later adopt, or not.  These Monte Carlo chronographs became known as “Home Plate” dials due to their hour markers’ resemblance to the baseball diamond’s home plate.  The interesting design of these chronographs have been a hit with collectors ever since they were first introduced.  At 40mm, what was initially perceived as a large watch, they are a perfect modern size.  The steel bezel includes a tachymeter scale for use with the chronograph, which uses an orange-red hand.  The pushers are screw-in, which protect them from being pushed when under water.  Powered by a hand-winding Valjoux caliber 7734 movement, the watch has a well-made and respected movement that has received a recent service, which includes passing pressure testing and a new crystal.  The bracelet is the correct 7836 bracelet with 380 end links  and shows very little stretch. The tritium lume on the dial face has mostly deteriorated, with full lume still on the hour and minute hands. Under magnification, the lacquer on the dial has developed small darker spots, which is typical for these dials.  This Monte Carlo still charms today as much as did when first introduced, and perhaps more so based on how few remain.  It’s an attractive watch that should please fans of vintage chronographs.

Tudor Submariner Date Ref. 76100

$8,495

Pre-owned Tudor 39mm Submariner, Black Dial, Stainless Steel Bracelet, Ref. 76100

Surprising to many, Tudor has their own Submariner, which has actually been available nearly as long as the Rolex Submariner that was introduced in 1953.  The reference 76100 was produced around 1984 and is considered a transitional model, primarily due to its short production run and the unusual hand set.  Rather than the iconic Tudor snowflake hand, this 76100 reference has a unique “lollipop” hour hand, without the classical inner divide of the famous “Mercedes” hand from Rolex. The dial indexes were also a different round shape, as opposed to rectangular.  Because of its short run, it is therefore harder to find. The Oyster bracelet completes the watch.
