Omega Geneve Dynamic Ref 165.039

$1,595

Pre-owned Omega 41mm Geneve Dynamic, Black/Grey Dial, stainless Ref 165.039

The Omega Genève Dynamic watches were released to the public in 1968, with the later versions switching from Geneve Dynamic to Deville Dynamics.  Watches were named Dynamic to emphasize their unusual shape, which was specifically designed to emphasize comfort.  The case is clearly elliptical to sit comfortably on the wrist, while the dial is a more traditional round shape for ease in reading the time.  The Dynamics featured many different dial designs, as well as movements.  Perhaps the most popular is the dial on the watch shown here, the black and grey tuxedo version, which is nicely offset with the reddish-orange seconds hand.  The caseback on this watch includes the correct etching “Tool 107 Waterproof”, which is also curved.  The integrated stainless steel bracelet and Omega signed crown both appear to be original.  The case still shows the unusual (and correct) sunburst brushing on the top and the straight lined brushing on the sides of the case, although worn.  The dial has what appears to be the original lume and is in very good condition, as well as attractive.  There are two small dimples that appear between the 4 and 5 o’clock position, as well as between 11 and 12 o’clock, with the one that is at the top of the dial that appears to have a crease.  An unusual vintage dial, it is safe to say that this watch is still Dynamic.

Omega Speedmaster Mark III Ref. 176.002

$4,495

Pre-owned Omega 40mm Speedmaster II Blue Dial, Stainless Steel Bracelet, Ref. 178.002

The Speedmaster Moonwatch may be one of the most recognizable watches. Not as widely known is that Omega went on to produce other models, including the Mark II and Mark III Speedmaster models. The Mark II was intended to modernize the case shape and the Mark III introduced the first automatic Speedmaster and the first Speedmaster with a date. The watch’s case is very similar to that of the famous Flightmaster and was offered first with a black dial, then later with a blue or a silver dial. It is a tall watch, with an ascetic that captures the 1970’s when it was manufactured, although a comfortable wearing watch at 40mm wide. This particular watch appears to have been rarely worn. The only apparent indications that it isn’t new old stock is a tiny nick near the seven o’clock position on the case next to the crystal, and a small indentation on the clasp. The automatic caliber 1040 movement is a respected movement, making this a watch that should please a collector.

Omega Speedmaster Racing Ref. 329.30.44.51.01.001

$8,750

New Omega 44.25mm Speedmaster Racing Co-Axial Chronograph Black Dial Stainless Steel Bracelet 32930445101001

This Speedmaster Racing Master Chronometer features a 44.25 mm stainless steel case and bracelet with a tachymeter scale on a black ceramic bezel ring.  A racing style minute-track gives the watch its name and includes two sub-dials with blackened applied rings.  The unusual and clever sub-dial at 3 o’clock tracks both the elapsed minutes and hours using two small hands.  This makes for a clean and legible dial, with only a date window at 6 o’clock. Completing the dial are rhodium plated hour and minute hands and 18K white gold hour indexes with white Super-LumiNova.   A domed scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with antireflective treatment covers both sides of the watch.

The fine finishing continues on the movement that has a rhodium plated finish with Geneva waves in arabesque. The exceptional Omega Master Chronometer caliber 9900 justifies the finish work, as it is certified by METAS at the industry’s highest standard and includes a column wheel with Co-Axial escapement..  The watch is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss, making it as robust as it is beautiful.
